Being parents ourselves, we know that kids do really, truly say some of the funniest things. This is one of our favorite things about being parents if we're being honest here. One of our favorite celebrity couple, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, has recently shared a hilarious situation they had with their 7-year-old daughter asking her dad a sex question.
Whether you are at that place in life where you know sex questions are about to come your way or you have already gone through these motions, you will appreciate this situation. You will also probably get a good chuckle out of it, too. EOnline recently reported that Shepard and Bell had an interesting conversation with their oldest daughter, Lincoln.
Like every other parent lately, they have been stuck indoors due to the pandemic. Shepard and Bell tried to sneak away for a little bit of couple time. Nope, they weren't sneaking away to have sex, but this is exactly what their daughter thought they were going to do.
While the couple left their daughters with Bell's sister so they could go for a hike, Lincoln stopped them before walking out the door to ask a very specific question about their planned activities.
"We tried to steal away for a hike the other day," the actress recalled to Colbert. "My sister was here watching the kids. We masked up and we were like, 'Oh, we'll just walk down the streets. There's a great hike near our house.' And on our way out the door," Bell continued, "My 7-year-old stood in the door and she held it open. She goes, 'Uh, are you going to do a sex?'"
Um, gasp.
"It caught us by surprise," she added. "We've talked to her about what sex is, but she's never, we've never talked about us doing it."
As we can imagine, Shepard was able to come up with a quick and funny response to make the whole situation a little less awkward.
"Dax just really quickly said, 'We'd love to, but it's illegal publicly. Bye!' and closed the door."
And by less awkward, we mean that poor Kristen's sister was probably bombarded by loads of questions after that door slammed. Oops.
So, if you are ever faced with the same questions from your children, you can either choose to follow in their footsteps, or sit down and have "the sex talk" right then and there.
