When you hear the word unfiltered, a Kardashian probably doesn't come to mind. The Kardashians are known for their excessive lifestyles and beauty. We all know that they have their fair share of drama in their lives but despite these issues, they've always had their picture-perfect images and seemingly flawless bodies. Even if we know that these images have been edited, it can still make the average woman feel a certain kind of way about her normal body.

That's why fans and followers of Kourtney Kardashian are happy to see her painted in a whole new light. Twice this year, Kourtney has shared photos on Instagram that are completely unedited or retouched. The first picture, posted earlier this year shows Kourtney in a stylish black one-piece with the captions "poosh away your pooch with these 5 simple moves. Link in the bio for @amandaeliselee's step-by-step instructions for each #pooshthemoves. The most recent post shows Kourtney in a cute white bikini with black polka dots and the caption "Stretch marks: we've all got them. Looking to minimize the appearance of yours? Learn how at the link in our bio.

Now, some Kardashians haters might point out the fact that these posts are clearly an ad to pitch something that Kourtney Kardashian is being incentivized to sell and not as woke or altruistic as it seems, but nonetheless, Kardashian's followers appreciate the realness of it all. The most recent post, posted by @poosh 3 days ago got almost 25,000 likes and 176 comments most of them positive. Fans commented with things like "keeping it real", "that was a refreshingly positive and practical approach to stretch marks", and "love these posts."

There has probably never been a time in history when women weren't under extreme scrutiny for the way that they looked and the introduction of social media has made it worse. There are some women who boast that they're completely comfortable in their own bodies and unphased by these unrealistic images from the Kardashians and other celebrities, but for most women, it can lead to lower self-esteem and body image issues. Women are highly critical of their own bodies as it is and seeing countless air-brushed and touched up pictures coming through their Instagram feeds on a regular basis only increases those negative thoughts. That's why fans are applauding Kourtney for these real pictures, no matter what the motivation behind it was.
