Kohl's To Expand Its Amazon Returns Program This Summer

Shopping on Amazon just got even easier, if you can believe that's possible. Fans of the online retail giant love being able to order anything they possibly need and have it delivered to their front door, often by the following day. What isn't always convenient with Amazon is when a consumer needs to return a product. Many find that having to take the product to the local post office or delivery service to ship it back to Amazon both timely and a hassle, and as a result, often end of keeping a product even if they don't need it.

Now, thanks to an expanded returns program between Kohl's and Amazon, it will be much easier for shoppers to return their Amazon products to any Kohl's store, even if the product has been opened.

The partnership between Kohl's and Amazon isn't a new one. Over the last two years, shoppers have been able to bring their Amazon returns to the approximately 100 participating Kohl's stores in the Los Angeles, Chicago, and Milwaukee markets that accept them. This newly expanded return policy will see all 1150 Kohl's stores accepting all Amazon products, "regardless of return reason and regardless of whether the items are packaged or unpackaged for shipping."

“We are thrilled to bring Amazon Returns at Kohl’s to all of our stores across the country,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief executive officer in a statement. “Amazon and Kohl’s have a shared passion in providing outstanding customer service, and this unique partnership combines Kohl’s strong nationwide store footprint and omnichannel capabilities with Amazon’s reach and customer loyalty. This new service is another example of how Kohl’s is delivering innovation to drive traffic to our stores and bring more relevance to our customers.”

Last month Kohl's announced plans to sell Amazon products in about 200 of their stores, and this newest announcement is sure to drive even more traffic to their locations. Some stores even feature an Amazon Smart Home Experience where consumers can try out some of Amazon's smart devices in store. GeekWire announced that their stock is currently up by 9 percent thanks to the news of the expanded partnership with Amazon, proving that while people love the convenience of online shopping, having a convenient return option is equally important.

While many are claiming online shopping is the future and traditional brick and mortar stores are suffering, it seems that Kohl's has found a way to give consumers the best of both worlds. By providing an easy and hassle-free way of returning Amazon packages without forcing one to deal with having to ship them back themselves, Kohl's is providing a much-needed service that is sure to be incredibly successful.
