After the tragic loss of Kobe and Gianna Bryant last month, today is the day to celebrate their lives. And from what we've learned about the father and daughter duo - they both had incredible lives worth celebrating.

Today, at 10 a.m. local time in downtown Los Angeles at the Staples Center, the home of Bryant's longtime team, the Lakers, their celebration of life will be held. According to Good Morning America, you can tune in live on ABC News Live. ABC News' coverage will begin at 9:30 a.m. local time.

If you are wondering why today was the day that was chosen for their celebration of life, there is some incredible significance behind today's date for the Bryant family. If you follow basketball, you might have taken note that the number 24 was the long time jersey number for Kobe, and Gianna's jersey number was 2 (signifying the month, February). Beyond the jersey numbers, Bryant's wife, Vanessa, also revealed that her and her husband were together for twenty years and he . also played for the Laker's for twenty years.

If you were able to get tickets online to be there in person, be safe. If you're watching it on television or online, police in that area have noted that people should stay away from the Staples Center for the remainder of the day.

Kobe leaves behind his wife, Vanessa and three daughters - the youngest they just welcomed in mid-2019.

Recently, Vanessa started opening up about the tragic loss, saying, "My girls and I want to thank the millions of people who’ve shown support and love during this horrific time. Thank you for all the prayers. We definitely need them. We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband, Kobe — the amazing father of our children; and my beautiful, sweet Gianna — a loving, thoughtful, and wonderful daughter, and amazing sister to Natalia, Bianka, and Capri."

Other celebrities have also come forward to share their heartfelt condolences such as Chiquis Rivera and Shaquille O'Neal.
