In a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it was revealed that Khloé Kardashian had contracted the coronavirus earlier in the year, shortly after her brother-in-law Kanye West was also diagnosed. With two people so close to her being directly affected, Kim Kardashian went straight to Dr. Fauci to get the facts about the potentially deadly virus, organizing a Zoom call and including dozens of other celebrities to ask questions and receive proper medical advice.

Fauci recently confirmed to CNN that he participated in a Zoom call back in April with 36 celebrities and athletes, organized by Kardashian, where he answered questions and gave information about the health pandemic. "It was a whole bunch of movie stars and some sports figures and they wanted to know about what they could do to stay safe, about wearing masks and avoiding crowds," Fauci said. "I was impressed by the questions they asked, by their level of sophistication."

Fauci said that in addition to the reality star, celebrities Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, 2 Chainz, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Brad Falchuk were all part of the Q&A session. The immunologist told the news station that he took part in the Zoom call because he knew the influence those on the call have and that they "could get the word out about staying safe."

Fauci, who is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a member of the White House coronavirus task force and possibly the most trusted voice by many during the current pandemic said he hoped that the celebrities he spoke with would be able to reinforce the importance of key safety measures to their fans and followers. "Each of them has enormous numbers of followers on their social media accounts. I could say to them, for example, it's important to wear a mask, and they get on their accounts and say 'wear a mask' and it goes out to an additional couple of million people," he told CNN.

A source told the news station that Kardashian wanted to do her part by using her influence to help spread accurate information and safety measures about the pandemic so she reached out to Fauci to organize the call and included other high profile guests. "She wanted to speak with someone, to ask questions, so she could spread accurate information because there were so many inaccuracies those first few months," the source said.
