The Kardashian family is not known for being humble, often posting about their lavish parties, giving tours of their massive homes, and outfitting their toddlers in designer clothes. And while fans often give them a pass for flaunting their wealth, they weren't quite as forgiving when Kim Kardashian recently posted pictures of the elaborate birthday trip she took during a worldwide health pandemic.

"40 and feeling so humbled and blessed," The KKW Beauty founder began a post that featured pictures of her family and an incredibly large group of friends who all attended her private birthday celebration. "After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time. We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40"

Needless to say, people were not as excited about Kim's wealth and privilege affording her a trip most of us could only dream about with all those close to her when people around the world are simply struggling to put food on the table. In addition to the staggering death toll as a result of the health pandemic, people have literally gone months without seeing members of their own family in the interest of health and safety and were appalled at Kardashian's post.

According to TMZ, Kim's guest list included 40 of her closest friends and family she flew n a Boeing 777 to a private island that had been COVID-19. Although sources claim that all guests had to quarantine for two weeks prior to the trip and undergo multiple tests for the coronavirus, fans had a hard time celebrating Kardashian's privilege.  Followers took to the comments section to sound off on the businesswoman's tone-deaf post.

"Did the pandemic go away?! Omg wish someone would’ve told me we could have massive parties."

"I love how the elite don’t have to social distance OR wear masks 🙇🏻‍♀️ called it #hypocrites."

"ur huge bday party looks fun but Kim there’s people dying."

"Wow. Are you really clueless enough to post this now??! Wow."

"Humbled? Humble on an island? Paying for multiple health tests when we have to wait for ages"

"Last time I checked, there was a pandemic going on, yet rich people are still holding parties and going on trips"

Twitter users also mocked the SKIMS founder, turning her birthday party celebration announcement into memes.

Those on social media were quick to drag the mother of four for thinking it was appropriate to post pictures of her entitlement and privilege during a pandemic where so many people have lost their jobs and financial security.

Included in Kim's birthday trip was her mom, Kris Jenner, and Kris’ boyfriend, Corey Gamble, sisters Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, and Khloé Kardashian as well as brother Rob Kardashian. Kylie Jenner doesn't appear to have made the trip. Kourtney and Khloé’s exes, Scott Disick and Tristan Thompson, were also spotted as well as a number of those in the Kardashian inner circle.

While fans aren't surprised that they would go on a trip like this during a pandemic, many couldn't understand why Kardashian would post about it all over social media?
