People will find any reason in the world to shame celebrities, and especially celebrity moms! They get shamed for what they name their kids, how they carry them, and even piercing their baby's ears. Come to think of it - this is sort of universal for all moms, right? We've all been on the receiving end of some good old-fashioned mommyshaming, and we know that it sucks. Just let people live! We're all doing the best we can, and people should just mind their own business. But for celebs who live their life in the public eye, it can get to be pretty tedious.
The Kardashians are no strangers to being shamed - for everything from their clothing to their relationships, and yes, their parenting. Khloé Kardashian welcomed daughter True in April 2018, and since then she's weathered some pretty intense public scrutiny. But one thing she does not stand for is being mommy-shamed, and when people started calling her out for her long nails, of all things, she decided to clap back.
Long nails are very much on trend right now. Everyone has them! You don't have to be a celeb to rock the long nails, although many celebs do, including Khloé Kardashian. But people seem to think that having long nails means you can't ... parent properly? Which is just stupid. If you live your daily life with long nails, chances are you've figured out how to manage with them, and tasks aren't any harder than they would be with short nails.
In a video for Vogue Magazine, Khloé says that people told her she wouldn't be able to parent with long nails, that it was gross, that they would prevent her from taking care of True. Such nonsense!
This isn't the first time Khloé has been shamed for having long nails. People have been on her case about them for quite some time. But in true Khloé fashion, she responded back in February in (in our opinion) a very dignified way.
It’s annoying when people talk about my nails. Trust me, I manage just fine. The same way I take care of myself, I take care of my baby. There are more serious things to discuss. At least I would hope. 🙄 happy Monday to you— Khloé (@khloekardashian) February 18, 2019
So there you have it, folks! Long nails don't make it any harder to be a mom. So why doesn't everyone just agree to mind their business, and worry about their own nails?
