That is what a lot of celebrities have to go through, and while they choose a life in the public eye, they are still human.

According to People, Kelly Clarkson is opening up about how hard her divorce has been for her and how she is managing to stay a full-blown Mama Bear for her kids. Kelly Clarkson recently announced that her and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, were getting a divorce and she is trying to be careful about everyone who is involved.

Kelly is trying to find a balance between keeping her fans in the loop about what is going on and trying to keep some things private. She says it is so difficult because she has always been an open book, and that is one thing about her that her fans really respect. However, she now has young children that she has to think about. She showed all of her fans that she is taking this seriously when she opened up about how her children are in therapy to help them cope with their parents getting a divorce.

Kelly and Brandon share two children together. River is 6 years old and Remington is 4 years old. Kelly says that while she is a person in the public eye, she is a mother more and she stated that she cares “100% more” about her children than she does about anything else. She said that in sharing her experience, she wants to tell fans that it is the worst thing she has ever had to go through. She said the past few months have been “horribly sad.”

What is helping her keep focus is remember that everything she says and does has a domino effect and can effect the lives of people around her, and this includes her children. She said that she has had conversations with some of her children about how hard it is, and how hard it can be when they are in the public eye. She also explained that the divorce did not meant that something was wrong with either her or Brandon.

She said that it just happens and there really isn’t anything to hide. Kelly has made it very clear that her children will be put first through this divorce and that she wants to keep the relationship she has with her stepchildren.
