The Dawson’s Creek alum, that we all know and love, Katie Holmes, has recently shared some pretty candid mom life chit chat and we're all over here saying "finally."

Holmes is on the cover of Elle UK for their December issue and she opened up to them about being a mom and what's been like raising her daughter practically alone. Since Holmes is known for keeping her life, especially her relationship with her daughter pretty private, so her candor was very welcomes.

The now 40-year-old actress welcomed daughter Suri Cruise, whom she shares with ex Tom Cruise, back in 2006, when she was only 27.

Fox News shared how reporter pointed out that when she asked Holmes if she and her daughter were a good team, there was "a noticeable chill" from the actress. Yikes.

"She frowns and offers me a vague line, saying she hopes that most families are close," the interviewer reported.

But then Holmes went on to say that, “I was happy to become a mom in my twenties,” she told the magazine. “It’s been nice that our ages fit… how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together.”

She also opened up in the interview about other areas in their life, such as the apartment that the mother-daughter duo share in New York. “It’s really homey,” said Holmes. “I have a lot of pictures. I like vintage art from flea markets. Because we’re in New York, I want our apartment to be very cosy and soft—the city around us is so intense and hard. So that’s our style. And a lot of colors.”

We love it when one of our favorite celebs opens up about their motherhood experiences - the good and the bad - because it's the perfect remind that at the end of the day, we're all human sharing this incredible experience of motherhood.

Holmes is currently filming the movie "Brahms: The Boy II," which is due to be released in February - so get excited!
