One of the biggest issues for kids these days is bullying, and all parents want to find a solution. That includes the First Lady, who has created a program to try to combat cyberbullying and taken a lot of criticism in the process.

Recently, model Kathy Ireland took up for Melania Trump, saying in an interview that Melania is doing a good job at tackling the prevalent problem that affects so many young people.

The Be Best program started out with an emphasis on encouraging young people to refrain from bullying kids on social media. In general, that's an easy sell and positive message, but Melania's program has been criticized because of her husband's tweets. In the past two years, the program has expanded to other online safety and wellness issues.

For Kathy, the effort is worth it. As a business leader, she said in an interview that she doesn't get into politics so she didn't want to comment on the president's involvement, but she said that it's never OK to disparage people and she really appreciates the first lady's attempts to spread that message. “She's doing a wonderful job,” she said of Melania Trump. “I don't think there is any time that bullying is OK for anybody. There's never a time when that's OK.”

Kathy Ireland and Melania Trump have a lot in common since they were both models in the beginning of their careers.

Many people might think that models don't know a lot about bullying other than from the side of the bullies. The pretty people are thought of as the mean girls in high school, but if you think further, it makes sense that models could be really attuned to the issue.

Kathy, Melania, and all those other ladies who put themselves out there for jobs on runways and in magazines and commercials have to face a lot of criticism. People in the industry constantly talk about their bodies and looks, and they probably get more negative comments than positive ones before they make it big.

A couple of years ago, when people criticized Melania for some of her old modeling gigs, Kathy spoke up for her fellow model, saying that people shouldn't pick on the first lady for her previous work.

The most important lesson in all of this is that kindness matters, and we should all think twice before we bully anyone. That is how we be the best that we can be.
