Kailyn Lowry is having some concerns over her young son being featured on their reality show, Teen Mom 2. Reality TV differs from scripted TV in a lot of ways. It doesn't take long before you realize that reality TV isn't all that realistic - there are definitely scripted and contrived moments designed to ramp up the drama and make for good TV. But when an actor signs on to be part of an actual scripted show, they do so willingly. It's their job! They film the show, then they go back to trying to find another show to film.

But with reality TV and the people who appear on these shows, they go back to living their normal life between filming (or living as normal a life as possible after having your dirty laundry aired for all the world to see). This can be especially hard for kids, who are signed up for these shows by their parents, and who may not fully comprehend what's going on. The Teen Mom series on MTV makes kids a central part of the story lines, and we've watched these little ones grow from babies. But have you ever stopped to wonder how these kids deal with life off-camera?

One of the stars of the series, Kailyn Lowry, has three sons that appear on the show: Isaac, 9, Lincoln, 5, and 2-year-old Lux. All three boys have appeared on the show for as long as they've been alive, but that may change. Lowry is considering pulling Lux from filming, after his dad expressed concern over Lux's appearances on the show.

On last week's episode, Kailyn Lowry and her ex, Chris Lopez, got into an argument about Lux being filmed for the show. Lopez's face is always blurred when he appears on camera, suggesting that he doesn't consent to his likeness being used. In the episode, he told Lowry that he no longer wants Lux to be filmed or appear on the show either, because they've been recognized when they're out and about together. Lowry acknowledged that Lopez doesn't want Lux to be filmed, and said that he would be picking the toddler up and bringing him back when filming was done for the day.

She also said she's not sure how she feels about it, since she wants to feature all three of her sons, not just the older two. In the end, she decided to allow Lux to be filmed when Lopez didn't know about an upcoming shoot date, but would honor his wishes when he knew filming would be taking place.

Fans were split over Lowry's decision. On the one hand, she's been on the show for years, so Lopez knew what the expectations would be. But many fans praised Lopez for taking a stand against his son being exploited on television. Lux is just two years old, so there's no way he can understand the implications of the show and the impact on his future. Also, many fans called Lowry out for what they called her "lie by omission" - she won't allow Lux on camera when Lopez knows about it, but will when he doesn't? Who's to say she won't lie about filming just to accomplish her own goals?

We have to say, we are Team Dad here, and we support Lopez for not wanting his son to be involved in the show anymore. Clearly, it's already impacting his everyday life, and as Lux's dad, he seems to be focusing on keeping his son safe and keeping his life as normal as possible.
