It's been a rough few weeks for Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and their family. The couple suffered a devastating late pregnancy loss just a few weeks ago and have been open and honest with fans about how they have been coping ever since. In a new interview, Legend is sharing how the encouragement and kind words from fans have truly helped the entire family during their difficult time.

Teigen is known for her outgoing personality and sharing every aspect of her life on social media, so for many, it wasn't a surprise that she shared the details of her pregnancy loss too. While some criticized her for it, others applauded her for helping to normalize miscarriage and encourage people to speak openly about it. The couple has received so much support from fans that Legend credits them with helping his family heal.

"We've heard from so many people who have gone through it too and it's been encouraging to be getting so much love and support from so many people who have experienced similar things," the singer told Entertainment Tonight. "Chrissy sharing what she shared has also been helpful for other people who are going through it and may go through it in the future. So thank you."

Despite their painful loss, the award-winning performer said that his family saw no choice but to persevere and move forward. "Whenever we go through personal challenges - and I think challenges as a nation - I think we have to hold on to what makes us optimistic," he said, adding "What makes us hopeful, hold onto the things that bring us joy," he explained. And while the family has suffered a huge loss, he says that he and his wife find joy with their children Luna and Miles. "And in my family, as we've gone through a tough year, we hold onto the fact that we have two beautiful kids that we love and are such a beautiful reflection of who we are and what we value."

Teigen continues to be open about losing her son and how the family is coping, recently sharing on social media that they still think often about baby Jack and how her children are also dealing with the loss.

Both Legend and Teigen definitely seem to be holding on to all the joy they can right now, and Legend is doing his part to bring joy to others with his new Netflix film, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey. The diverse movie is described as "a musical adventure and a visual spectacle for the ages." Produced by Legend, the movie stars Forest Whitaker as a legendary toymaker who has his most prized creation stolen by his apprentice, played by Keegan-Michael Key. "With having kids who are Black and brown, growing up in a world where there's not a lot of content that shows a positive vision of who they are and what they look like, it's really powerful that we have this film for our young people that can be on perennial Christmas cannon," he expressed. "That shows the possibilities that we have as Black and brown people. I think is pretty beautiful and we're excited that Get Lifted, our film company, is able to be a part of that."

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey arrives in theaters and on Netflix on Nov. 13.
