Jinger Duggar Vuolo has emerged as possibly one of the most progressive members of the Duggar family over the last few years. It has long been rumored that she and husband Jeremy Vuolo used birth control before welcoming their first child and Jinger not only wears pants and skirts above her knees but she's also cut and dyed her hair, all no-nos in the Duggar family. Jinger and Jeremy also seem to be a bit more flexible when celebrating Halloween and explained their thoughts about the holiday on their new podcast.

The Duggar family has made it no secret that they don't celebrate Halloween, but when asked whether it was something they choose to celebrate as a family, especially now that their daughter Felicity is 2 and they are expecting another child, Jinger and Jeremy explained their thoughts. "Do we celebrate Halloween?" Jeremy posited on the couple's podcast, The Hope We Hold, "I would say yes and no." Jinger added, "not in the traditional sense."

“Here's a way for Christians to think about it," he said. "A lot of us see certain holidays as a social construct that maybe you grew up where your idea of Halloween is getting a cute outfit, with your friends, having your friends over, go trick or treating around your neighborhood, say hi to the neighbors, have fun and laugh with your parents, and you get candy, and you get to dress up,” Jeremy said. “As far as that goes, totally Christians can enjoy that." He went on to add that "If my kids want to dress up and it's fun time to wear a pumpkin outfit then that's awesome."

The Pastor did go on to note that the holiday can become problematic when people study the origins of Halloween, saying that if people delved into the history of Halloween they may find “very disturbing origins.” He also acknowledged that Halloween wasn't the only holiday to have Pagan ties, mentioning Christmas and other Christian holidays like Easter.

Vuolo added that dressing up and going door to door around your neighborhood on October 31st to trick or treat is "objectively harmless." He said that each family should make the decision for themselves and "leave room for families to enjoy all the good gifts that God gives, including candy, and dressing up and having fun with your neighbors and to do so with a clean conscience."

Jinger isn't the only member of her famous family who seems to enjoy celebrating Halloween. Last year her sister Jill was criticized online for allowing her sons to dress up in costume and collect candy from local businesses.

Sounds like fans will get to see Felicity all dressed up in costume next Halloween!
