The holiday season can be amazing, but it can also be a real struggle for those with a complicated family dynamic. It's not all laughter and hugs when some families get together for the holidays and many are speculating that those complications are why Jill Duggar and her family decided not to celebrate Thanksgiving at the big house with her parents.
The ex-Counting On star shared photos of her family's dinner at home, which included her husband, Derick Dillard, and their two kids, Samuel and Israel. By looking at the photos it looks like they had a wonderful time together.
"Parade, forts and turkey in the oven to start off our thanksgiving day! So many things to be grateful for!," the caption reads on one of Jill's Instagram photos of her Thanksgiving day.
The kids seem to be enjoying watching the parade and having fun and we imagine their home smells delicious with that big turkey cooking in the oven.
In another post, the couple shared that they opted to spend Thanksgiving with friends calling the day "friendsgiving" while posing for a photo with another couple and their kids.
But, despite sharing their alternate plans, the fact that they didn't head over to Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's home for the celebrations had their fans asking some questions.
InTouch Weekly read through the comments and picked some out that questioned Jill and her decision to stay home.
“Why aren’t you with your parents?” one person asked. “Y’all not going to the big house?” asked another comment. A third commented chimed in asking, “Don’t you all go home for Thanksgiving?”
As the Duggars tend to do, it seems they ignored the comment section and didn't answer anyone as to their decision to stay home. But people speculated on why they didn't go--and it centered around the recent rumor mills that Derick Dillard isn't getting along with Jim Bob.
"Her husband and Jim Bob do not get along,” one commenter chimed in. “I don’t think they talk to her parents,” said another. “They had a falling out. I think it’s so sad! I love her parents!!”
While there are no official answers, if they are indeed fighting with Jill's parents, we can see why they'd want to stay away. No one wants to be close to family on the holiday with drama in the middle of it. Either way, we hope all is alright.
