Jennifer Garner is showing how much of a “normal” mom she is by refusing to believe how old her daughter is. Time is a funny thing when you become a mom, it both seems to slow down and speed up at the same time. Those early days of sleepless nights seem to pass so slowly, and then it is like you blinked and your little baby is now a teenager. It also seems like this is a problem for celebrity moms as well; at least, it is for Jennifer Garner.
According to People, Jennifer is having a hard time believing, and maybe accepting, that her oldest daughter is 15-years-old. Jennifer shares her daughter, Violet, with ex-husband Ben Affleck, and it seems to everyone that she was just a born a couple years ago.
Jennifer appeared on Today with Hoda & Jenna when she spoke about it. Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager are also moms, so they likely understand Jennifer’s plight. Jennifer said that her daughter turns 15 today, and the two hosts could not believe it. Hoda told Jennifer to wait, and asked if she really had a 15-year-old. Jennifer confirmed about said it was hard to believe that “little Violet Affleck” is 15.
When they realized the young girl’s age, they got into the real questions about dating. A topic that is routinely an issue for girls the same age as Jennifer’s daughter. Jennifer said that right now she is doing school through Zoom, and she goes to an all-girls school so they haven’t had to address that issue yet. She also said that she is “full of the feels today” which a lot of moms can relate to, because they go through it every year when their child gets that one year older.
Jennifer shares Violet, Seraphina and Samuel with Ben Affleck and through quarantine, she has been spending time with her children and baking, which she is constantly posting about on her Instagram page. When it comes to her parenting, Jennifer said that she has pretty awesome kids and that she has “chilled out” a bit and has stopped trying to become her mom. Jennifer also said that Violet has a great sense of humor, which Ben can attest to as well. Ben has said in the past that Violet is always making fun of him for using too many emoji’s in a group chat. It is always nice to see the children of celebrities we grew up with age, but it does have a tendency to make us feel old as well.
