Wondering if this whole dog situation with Jenelle Evans and her husband is over? We're here to tell you, there's a new development. No, poor Nugget hasn't magically come back. Wherever that sweet pup is, it's definitely in a better place. This new development will have you scratching your head even more than you were. Jenelle Evans and David Eason are the proud owners of two new puppies.
We're thinking exactly what you're thinking. Why in the world are these two even allowed to own dogs again? And why would they get new ones so soon after Nugget's disappearance? Well, from what we can tell, these dogs are working dogs, not solely pets. David explains everything in a new YouTube video. Apparently the couple has chickens and other livestock on their property. And the chickens especially are in danger of being some other animal's snack.
"We have hawks and crows always eating the heads off our chickens, and plastic owls are not doing the trick," Eason claims. He then explains that the family's pit bull Jax also ate chickens in addition to maiming a large pig. So Jax was given away (lucky dog.)
“After lots of research, we came across this breed of dog called the Anatolian shepherd,” Eason explains. "They are a livestock guardian breed and do not mind eating and sleeping with all our animals on The Land!” So it seems that these dogs will not live in the house, but outside with the other animals. This may be for the best.
If you're new to why this is making us uneasy, here's a quick recap. In late April/early May, Jenelle's French bulldog Nugget goes missing. She tells police and several news media outlets that her husband David shot Nugget after the pup bit her toddler. So, the police and animal control mount an investigation, including touring the property. They find no evidence of shooting. Evans then backtracks, saying she was in the house with the children at the time. So she doesn't actually know if Eason shot the dog.
As the investigation continues, the couple loses custody of their three children. They have since regained custody. Because of the investigation and losing custody of the children, MTV fires Evans from Teen Mom 2. Then last week, the police close the investigation on lack of evidence. Additionally, they say that Evans told them she made the whole thing up for publicity. She's refuting that claim, saying she doesn't actually know what Eason did with Nugget.
Hopefully, these new puppies never make it into the house.
