Do not come for Aquaman! Most people can agree that Jason Momoa, known for his roles as Game of Thrones' Khal Drogo and of course Aquaman, is one of Hollywood's hottest actors. Recently a photo was posted online of the 39-year-old actor, who shares two children with wife Lisa Bonet, as he was vacationing in Venice, Italy. The picture shows the actor shirtless, poolside, looking every bit as amazing as usual, however proving that the internet is why we can't have nice things, some people decided to body shame the actor for his physical appearance.

If you thought women were the only people body shamed online, you'd be wrong because people couldn't wait to comment on the fact that Momoa doesn't look exactly like his Aquaman character.  "Seems to me he doesn't have the same buff bod he had in Aquaman," wrote one commenter who was more kind than most with their criticism. "Omg, what happened to the abs?" wrote another. "His middle is looking a little doughy! Just sayin," wrote one person who clearly doesn't know what it takes to maintain chiseled abs constantly!

Although Momoa was body-shamed for having what some are calling a 'dad-bod' other fans were quick to jump to his defense, pointing out that although the action star may be on vacation, he is still in amazing shape and looks awesome.

It seems that people aren't really aware of the rigorous training regimens that actors of both sexes must endure when preparing for roles, and when that role is over they allow themselves to relax a little bit. It's awful that the internet felt they were entitled to criticize Momoa, but it's a sad reality that women have always endured.

While many fans came to Momoa's defense pointing out that his 'dad bod' is actually still incredibly impressive, others applauded the actor for not feeling he always has to look like the characters he portrays on the big screen. "As a person with terrible body dysmorphia I appreciate Jason Momoa's "dad bod"," tweeted one fan. "It's not like he did it intentionally, but shows that people go through weight fluctuations. Not everyone is shredded all the time, and also people are mean about all bods."

Fortunately, these comments haven't seemed to bother Momoa as he continues to post pictures of himself on vacation.

Hopefully, people will realize that no one should be shamed for their body shape regardless if they're Aquaman or not. Putting unrealistic body expectations on anyone can lead to eating disorders, depression, and unhealthy eating habits and is just an awful thing to do.
