Jason Momoa is one of the biggest stars out there and he is known for Game of Thrones and Aquaman. He appears to be a tough guy and has a large presence, but he struggles just like everyone else. According to ET Canada, Jason has opened up about the fact that he grew up without a father and that has changed how he is raising his own children.

Jason has two children with his wife, Lisa Bonet. The pair share Lola, 13, and Nakoa-Wolf, 11, and they seem like a happy and perfect family. Jason recalled how he grew up without a father and it has had a lasting effect on how he chooses to raise his children. He states that he really wants to connect with his children and listen to them. He said that he was nervous and he didn’t know what it took to be a dad, because he had never had one in his life.

When it comes to parenting, he doesn’t want to be the dad that answers their child back with “because I told you so,” instead, he really wants to connect and he wants his children to be vulnerable and open with him. According to People, even after Jason’s first hit role, in Game of Thrones, he was struggling.

He opened up about how he was in debt after doing the show and his family was struggling to eat. He said that it was really hard to be raising babies while in so much debt, another struggle that a lot of parents out there can relate to.

While things are looking up for Jason with his current and future roles, his humble confession and approach to parenting is something that a lot of parent’s can relate to and it makes him feel so much more real to thousands of people out there. Jason may be an actor, but he is a dad deep down and one who really wants to be there for his children.
