Jaden Smith's family addressed the concerns of Jaden's vegan lifestyle during their show Red Table Talk. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett said that they were concerned about their son's vegan diet because they felt that he was not getting enough proteins and he has lost so much weight. Will said that his son's skin was becoming grayish and he had dark circles beneath his eyes.

Will called a family meeting and the agenda was the weight he had gained while on vacation. He said that he eats when he gets bored and his family feared that he was becoming a food addict. However, the attention switched to Jaden who looked drained and malnourished due to his vegan diet. The Smiths' family felt that their son was not getting enough nutrients and proteins because of his overly strict vegan diet. Jaden had gone into a fully plant-based diet and this eating habit caught the attention of his parents who thought their son could get sick.

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Will consulted a couple of experts concerning his son's vegan lifestyle and they did some health tests on him. Jaden said that he was reluctant to participate because of his father's openness. He said that after the episode of the Red Table Talk show, he got a lot of attention on the streets of people concerned about his health. He adds that people kept asking him if he was sick or if he needed water and some even offered to give him food! However, he tells the people who are concerned about his health that he is fine and he is now a vegetarian.

The people who wanted the medical results to be revealed on camera amused the family. Although the family got a few health surprises after the episode, they learned a few ways in which they can enhance their diets as well as their general health. As for Jaden, Dr. Mark Hyman explained that his sensitive stomach is responsible for his nutritional deficiency and he should learn about the foods that he can and cannot eat.

Will says that his son is looking better now since he left his vegan diet. Jaden says that he is now a vegetarian. He advises that people who want to do a vegan diet should find different sources of proteins and iron apart from meat. Regardless of the type of diet an individual subscribes to, he or she should make sure that it is balanced.
