A new Incredibles 2 book shows Elastigirl “kicking butt and taking names,” so to speak, before she became a mom. The new book, titled, “A Real Stretch: An Elastigirl Prequel Story” is a 240-page chapter book, which takes place in the golden age of the Supers.
The book tells the story of Helen – or rather, Elastigrl – before she married her husband Bob and had three kids: Violet, Dashiell and Jack-Jack. The book is for readers ages 9 to 12 (although parents can pick it up and enjoy it, too) and chronicles Helen’s life as she manages to escape risky situations and outsmart the villains with the confidence and razor-sharp wit that she is known for. Readers will also get to learn how she honed her special skills as Elastigirl as a young girl and woman.

Many fans of the book love the story because it shows how Helen didn’t settle down, even after she settled down. She’s fighting crime just as much as a mom as she did before she got married and started a family. In other words, motherhood didn’t slow her down from her day job. Instead, it only made her stronger and more determined to make the world a safer place.
Meanwhile, The Incredibles 2 focuses on Helen’s quest to save the world while her husband Bob is left to take care of Jack-Jack, Violet and Dashiell at home. In the end, the entire family come together to pull off one of the biggest saves in their town’s history. Many critics have applauded the film for being a smart, action-packed and visually-stunning film, with some even calling it the best Pixar offering in years.
According to reports, The Incredibles 2 has managed to break every animation record, making an estimated $180 million at the domestic box office during its premiere weekend. The sequel to the popular 2004 film The Incredibles soared passed the previous record for the biggest animated film opening in box office history by over $45 million dollars. In addition, the film has managed to being in about $231 million worldwide.
The movie stars the vocal talents of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed and written by Brad Bird. You can purchase “A Real Stretch: An Elastigirl Prequel Story” on Amazon.
