Now that we're moms, it's not often that we get to watch a movie without at least one kid hanging all over us. It's even harder to watch a movie that isn't made and marketed for kids! We've seen pretty much every animated movie that's come out in the last decade. But any of the big award season movies? Or blockbuster action flicks? Horror films or romantic comedies? Forget about it. We're lucky if we're able to catch them on a streaming service a few months after they came out, if then.  And if we're being honest, when we do find the time to sit down and watch a movie child-free, we're usually so tired and distracted that actually paying attention to a new movie is practically impossible.

That's why we tend to stick to tried-and-true favorites. You know the ones - movies you've seen several times and you know won't disappoint. And because art so often imitates life, we tend to pick funny movies that appeal to parents in some way, because sometimes life as a mom is a real clown show.

If you're looking for a surefire laugh, the movies with these iconic scenes should definitely be on your watchlist.

One of the most iconic scenes that always makes us laugh is from Mean Girls.

There's so much to love about this movie, but Amy Peohler as June George is definitely a stand out for us. Show of hands: how many of you swore you'd be the cool mom when you were a teen and your own mom was being supremely uncool? And then you grew up and realized that the cool mom is actually not the kind of mom you are or would ever be. June George lets us live out our cool mom fantasies without endangering our kids.

The childbirth scene from Knocked Up.

This entire movies cracks us up, but we absolutely lose it when Allison gives birth. Her pain, her rage, Ben trying to be supportive but not knowing what to do and then catching an unfortunate glimpse of the baby crowning. Takes us down memory lane!

Bren MacGuff finding the good in a bad situation in Juno.

Allison Janney can do no wrong in our book, but she is absolutely sublime in Juno. When Juno tells her dad and stepmom that she's pregnant, Bren talk her dad off the ledge with one of the greatest lines in cinematic history: "Somebody else is going to find a precious blessing from Jesus in this garbage dump of a situation".

The house party scene from Bad Moms.

For a few reasons! One, Martha Stewart makes Jell-O shots and uses profanity. Two, it's like the house party of our dreams. And three, Kristen Bell doing whip-its will never not be incredibly funny.

The wedding dress scene from Bridesmaids.

This will forever be one of our favorite movie scenes for one simple fact: it is one of the funniest movie scenes in any movie. Ever. We have watched this movie far more times than we care to admit, and we still cry laugh and wheeze through this entire scene. Perfection, and 100% iconic.

Grocery shopping in Mr. Mom.

OK, this is an oldie but a goodie. And it's chockful of hilarious scenes. Which makes sense, considering it's about a husband and dad who gets laid off and has to stay home with his kids while his wife re-enters the workforce. Clearly, he has no idea what he's in for, and that is never more apparent than when he takes two kids to the grocery store during peak shopping time. He doesn't understand cold cuts, he keeps knocking displays down, and he loses both his kids at separate times.

Pretty much every single scene Patricia Clarkson appears in Easy A.

We can't even list all the things we love about this movie. But Patricia Clarkson as Olive's mom Rosemary takes up probably 60% of the entire list. Our favorite scene (and one of the funniest of the whole movie) is when Rosemary comes into Olive's room to drop off a gift a boy left for her, and then goes off on a semi-inappropriate riff about dating gay men, wanting a second shot at raising her teen's hypothetical baby, and then goes just a toe over the line with a good ol' fashioned sex joke about herself and Olive's dad. She is mom goals.
