You know the saying "you have to laugh or you would cry"? Sometimes there are situations in life when that seems totally applicable, and being a parent does bring up lots of moments that are so weird that laughing seems to be the only thing to do.

It's great if you have a group of friends who are also parents and so you can bond over the situations that come up... but even if you don't, you still want to know that there are other people who are going through what you are. Even just hearing a funny quote about being a mom or dad can help you out.

Here are ten hilarious parenting quotes that will make you say "same."

10 10. “In the age of social media, when you can edit your life in beautiful pictures, it’s important to remind moms that all of us are wearing yogurt and all of our hands smell like urine.”

We already know that we love celebrity parents Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. They have two daughters, Lincoln and Delta, and don't put on airs or pretend to be flawless parents.

According to The Huffington Post, this is something that Kristen Bell once said... and we are so down with this quote. What mom wouldn't say "same" after reading it?! When you become a mother, your child will literally hand you any piece of garbage and not think anything of it, and you will have to clean up numerous messes and spills all day long. Kristen Bell is talking some real truth.

9 9. "Marriage is mostly just sending each other memes while your kids destroy the house around you."

James Breakwell has written a few books, so he definitely knows his stuff when it comes to parenting. His most recent book, Bare Minimum Parenting: The Ultimate Guide to Not Quite Ruining Your Child, has an absolutely hilarious title.

James also tweets a lot, and that's where the best gems are. The tweet quoted above is a hilarious, relatable look at marriage with kids. When you get a free moment and your kids are busy playing or watching TV, you figure that you and your partner will spend some time together and chat... but then you both find yourselves on your phones. This is also such a great parenting quote since he mentions memes and we all love memes.

8 8. “Nothing is really lost until mom can’t find it.”

This hilarious parenting quote is from a post on Wondermomwannabe.com, and it could basically be the definition of what being a mother is.

Don't we just spend our time looking for the things that our kids say that they can't find? A water bottle, a backpack, a banana... even a packed lunch that we swore we just put in our kids' backpack. (Oh, and don't forget the outfit that our kid is really, really excited to wear today but for some reason just doesn't seem to be anywhere in the house.) Moms are expert finders and it's part of the job description for sure.

7 7. "Yes, please get a new cup every time you need a drink of water -- said no mom, ever."

Reader's Digest has an amazing collection of quotes from mothers and this is one that stands out. It is seriously true.

If you're a mom, then you're going to read this quote and then say "same." On the one hand, you're thrilled that your children are old enough that they can pour their own water or juice or milk and you don't have to find stuff for them every five minutes. But on the other hand, the fact that they're growing up can make things a little bit more complicated. At least when you waited on your little ones you would only use one glass for water, right?

6 6. "My not-even-1-year-old, he's a lump of meat. Like, I love him, but he's, you know, 10 months old."

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have two kids, Wyatt and Dimitri. Whenever Mila is interviewed it seems like she has something even more hilarious to say about being a mom than the last time.

This quote from Mila Kunis is totally hilarious. She's saying what a lot of moms have been thinking about their babies. We might be worried or nervous about saying this out loud but we're definitely glad that she had the courage to say this. Yes, of course we love the baby stage... but also... it's fun when kids are toddlers, right?! It's the "lump of meat" part of the quote that is really funny.

5 5. “The biggest thing I remember is that there was just no transition. You hit the ground diapering.”

Thanks to A Message In A Bottle for this hilarious parenting quote from actor and comedian Paul Reiser. The star of Mad About You has such a funny, realistic take on parenting, and it really is just so true.

Who was ready for all those diapers? Not us... But it's not like we can pick and choose what we want to do as a parent and what we don't want to do. Changing diapers is part of the deal and all we can do is get through it and know that we'll be potty training our kids eventually (and then that'll be a whole other issue...)

4 4. “Did you know, when kids go to bed, you can hear yourself think again? I sound fabulous.”

This quote from writer and mom Paige Kellerman couldn't be more hilarious... or describe what it means to be a mom more.

Yes, we love our kids, but what mom doesn't look forward to a brief amount of quiet time once the day is close to over and we're about to go to bed? It's definitely not too much to ask for that small amount of time. Paige Kellerman has summed this up perfectly and while of course the first part of the quote would have been gold on its own, we really love that she added "I sound fabulous."

3 3. “A two-year old is kind of like having a blender, but you don't have a top for it."

This hilarious quote about parenting, mentioned on Good Housekeeping, is from Jerry Seinfeld, and it definitely makes us say "same."

While we know that kids of every age are busy, we would have to agree that toddlers are particularly busy. They're running around and exploring and even if we tell them not to run inside, well, that doesn't last very long because they just have endless amounts of energy. Toddlers are so cute that we relish in that phase and know that it's good that our kids are having fun... but it is a little bit tiring to be around that much energy.

2 2. "I want my children to have all the things I couldn't afford. Then I want to move in with them."

Mashable mentions this hilarious parenting quote from Phyllis Diller and we really can't get over it. Are we nodding our heads and saying "same"? Of course we are, right?

The comedian and actress was speaking to something that we can all relate to. We all say that we want our children to follow their dreams and do everything that they want. A lot of parents say that they want their kids to have more than them and maybe we feel that way, too. This quote is the best since Phyllis Diller was saying something that we've all been thinking: of course we want our kids to have the best... but don't we want those things, too?

1 1. "90% of parenting is just thinking about when you can lie down again."

Good Housekeeping also included this hilarious parenting quote in a collection of great ones, and it's credited to "anonymous." Well, we have to thank anonymous because this is an awesome quote.

How many of us have said that once we became parents, we couldn't believe how exhausted we were? All of us. That would definitely be all of us. It often seems like you can't become a mom or dad and not say that you're tired... a lot of the time. The truth is that there are some days when we really are waiting to go to bed because we're so tired... but, of course, every time we play with our kids or see their smiles we're once again thinking, "Okay, I can do this parenting thing." Funny quotes do help, though, and we love these 10 quotes.
