It's been a good year for some of Hollywood's most well-known actresses. Women are proving now, more than ever, that they have a lot of power on the big and small screen and people want to see them. Not only are people flocking to the box office to watch these incredible actresses but they're also dominating the streaming space, creating, directing, producing and starring in some of the most successful original programmings on television.

Forbes Magazine recently released their list of Top 10 Highest Paid actresses of 2019 and you will probably not be surprised to learn that it's a member of the MCU topping the list. Scarlett Johansson, who stars as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again topped the highest-paid list, earning a whopping $56 million. Johansson was savvy enough to negotiate a back end deal with Marvel that saw her earn $35 million thanks to the success of Marvel's Avengers: End Game. She also has her own origin story coming out, Black Widow, that will see the actress bringing in an 8 figure paycheck.

The list isn't limited to stars of box office behemoths either, with many television actresses landing a spot in the top 10. Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara is the second highest-earning actress in Hollywood, earning $44.1, with Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco ranking #6 with $25 million, and Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo coming in at $10 with an earning of $22 million.

Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman also were on the list at numbers three and four, respectively. While both are huge movie stars, they've also recently found critical and financial acclaim for starring in and executive producing HBO's hit series, Big Little Lies. Elisabeth Moss and Margot Robbie are new to the list this year, ranking #7 and #8 respectively, while Jennifer Aniston ranks #5.

While the top 10 highest-paid actresses in Hollywood earned a collective $314.6 million between June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019, according to Forbes, it's still a far cry from how much Hollywood's top actors are being paid. The magazine recently released its list of highest-paid actors, and their top 7 actors are paid more than Scarlett Johansson. The top 10 actors earned a whopping $588.3 million in total last year, which is still shockingly more than female actresses.

It is nice to see that the top 10 actresses earned 69% more this year than last, so at least they are starting to earn more of what they're worth.
