The Hallmark Channel has really managed to corner the Christmas market. With an overwhelming amount of new Christmas movies every year, they know what they're doing. But now it looks like they're expanding their holiday content. That's right, the Hallmark Channel is coming out with a holiday cookie baking competition show. And they're looking to cast amateur bakers, so if you love the Hallmark Channel and baking cookies, this is your chance!

The show, "Christmas Cookie Countdown," will consist of five episodes. It was announced during the television network upfronts back in March. Three yet to be revealed pastry chefs will be judges, and the hosts will be a revolving list of popular Hallmark Channel actors. And the show will air on Hallmark Drama, one of the network's three channels.

Usually shows like this are reserved for channels like the Food Network. But since the Hallmark Channel is already one stop shopping for Christmas fare, why shouldn't they try this? Honestly, at this point, Hallmark Channel Christmas movies are almost equal to Christmas cookies in terms of popularity.

Like many other forms of Christmas entertainment, the show is filming during the summer. Because it films soon, you need to be close to Southern California. The show is filming in Los Angeles, and it seems that they want the participants to be as close as possible. Here's the casting breakdown.

"Do your friends and family tell you your Christmas cookies are the very best? Are people always asking you for your cookie recipes? Are you confident in your creative abilities in the kitchen? If you have a talent for baking and are ready to put your skills to the test, we'd love to hear from you! We're looking for dynamic, outgoing cookie-makers from Southern California to participate in a really FUN new Christmas competition baking show! The challenges will be everything from visual and decorative, to taste and overall presentation! Follow the link and tell us why you deserve to partner up with some of your favorite Hallmark Television stars for a chance to win $25,000 in this fun and festive new competition series on the Hallmark Channel."

The only requirements are that you be over 18, which makes sense. You must be available to film in Los Angeles between July 29th and August 4th. So, dust off your best snickerdoodle recipe, grab your trusty can of sprinkles and apply!
