Anyone who has ever tried to organize a family photoshoot knows that anything and everything can happen, no matter how much planning is done. Typically it's the mom who does everything in her power to arrange the photoshoot for just the right time that all kids have been fed/napped/changed, they've done all the shopping to ensure all the outfits coordinate perfectly and have packed a days worth of snacks, drinks and toys to keep all kids happy in the hopes of getting just one decent picture of the family.
Moms also know that kids — toddlers and babies especially — are totally unpredictable, and sometimes they don't want their pictures taken. In fact, sometimes they'd just rather jump into the dirty pond that was carefully selected as the perfect backdrop to the pictures, making the family photoshoot definitely memorable. Texas family Haleigh and Matthew Mizzles recently learned the hard way that family photoshoots don't always work out as planned.
The couple and their three children, 6-year-old Ella, 2-year-old Lincoln, and 11-month-old Beckham arranged for a family photo shoot with photographer Jasmine Tamlin. Tamlin had taken a few pictures of the family when they decided on a few pictures of just Haleigh and Matthew. They left their children sitting on a nearby blanket as they had their pictures taken when Tamlin noticed young Lincoln heading towards the nearby pond. Before anyone knew, Lincoln was knee-deep in dirty pond water and Tamlin caught it all on camera!
Matthew Mizzles told local news station KTRE 9 that when he asked Lincoln why he went into the pond, "He said he wanted a ‘drink-y’ and then he said he was hot."
Tamlin commented that it was a great moment to capture on film, and the family was great sports about it all.
"That’s the greatest and craziest, and funniest thing that’s happened on one of my shoots," Tamlin said. "The fact that they were able to just laugh about it says a lot about their family, too."
Mizzles laughed stating it was their first family photo session since they welcomed their third child to the family. "We were testing the waters," he said.
Tamlin posted the photos to her Facebook page writing, "Sometimes you Photograph toddlers, and sometimes they jump into ponds. I had a blast photographing this family, even though 2 out of the 5 members got drenched in nasty pond water."
While these may not have been the pictures the Mizzles family planned, they are pretty amazing nonetheless!
