There is usually something very comforting about seeing our favorite childhood stories come to life in new ways. Dr. Seuss's stories have been apart of many generations of childhoods, and that doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon. Several stories have been adapted into film and/or television over the years, including The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who! and The Cat in the Hat (we'll focus on the PBS Kids show and not the terrible movie.) And now, his arguably most beloved story, Green Eggs and Ham is getting it's time in the spotlight thanks to Netflix. This is so exciting.

As a story, Green Eggs and Ham is pretty straightforward. The unnamed main character has an annoying acquaintance named Sam I Am who's obsessed with green eggs and ham. And much like your friend who just started the Keto Diet, all he can talk about is how much he loves it. So, how would they be able to expand the story into something that will last longer than one episode? Well, that's the fun part - it's an entirely new story.

Sam I Am, and Guy Am I (voiced by Adam Devine and Michael Douglas respectively) are the unlikely duo we've come to love, but thrust into an entirely new situation. Described as a "postmodern Planes. Trains and Automobiles through the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss," Sam I Am works as a wildlife rescuer, and Guy literally gets paid to watch paint dry. Their partnership starts with a classic briefcase mix-up, and suddenly they're on an adventure to return the rare Chickeraffe to its homeland.

During their adventure, they encounter Michellee, a scarily overprotective mother, and her daughter EB, who dreams of a pet of her own. When EB falls in love with the Chickeraffe, her mother is petrified that it will "eat her face off" (spoiler alert, it won't.) Additionally, Michellee and Guy form a love of their own. There is also a bounty hunter goat, two bad guys, and a villain determined to make the Chickeraffe his own.

In addition to the voice talents of Devine and Douglas as the main characters, the voice cast is incredible. Diane Keaton and Ilana Glazer voice Michellee and EB. Other voices include Eddie Izzard, Tracy Morgan, Daveed Diggs, and Keegan-Michael Key as the narrator. Green Eggs and Ham is produced by Ellen DeGeneres and premieres on Netflix this fall.
