It’s hard to believe it has been over 25 years since the series finale of The Golden Girls. While it’s unlikely that Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia will ever reunite for a resurrection (Betty White is the only surviving cast member, after all) fans of 1980s show will be delighted to know that its spirit lives on in the form of a soon-to-be-released cookbook.

According to Babble, a Golden Girls cookbook is set to be published by Kingswell, an imprint of Disney Publishing. It will feature all of the delectable recipes that the gals cooked up on the hit television show, including that scrumptious looking cheesecake they were often noshing on during their hilarious banter sessions.

This isn’t the first time that someone has tried to give us a taste of GG nostalgia. In 2017 Michael J. La Rue, a close friend of the late Rue McLanahan (aka Blanche) opened up a Golden Girls themed diner he named Rue La Rue in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City. There he served personal recipes from the gals as well as dishes riffed off show details — and cheesecake of course. Unfortunately, after less than a year of business, the throwback eaterie shuttered.

Golden Girls is one of those shows that seems to be a big one for people of our age. Maybe it's because our parents watched it or it was one of the first shows were we got to see friendship between females that was fresh, real, and full of personality. The group would chat life lessons over cheesecake around their circle table. So it's only fitting to have one of the first recipes be revealed to be a recreation of the Golden Girls cheesecake.

Babble has given us a sneak peek of one of the recipes, but unfortunately we will all have to wait until 2020 to devour the cookbook in its entirety. To check out the recipe, check the out on Babble.
