It’s January, which means millions of people around the world have resolved to eat super healthy for the rest of the year (or at least the month) as part of the whole "New Year, New Me" deal. As we are a few days into the month, a good portion of those individuals are totally ready to cheat and if you are included in that group of not-so-dedicated dieters, here is some really amazing news: Girl Scout cookie season has officially kicked off.

On Wednesday, Girl Scouts across the country were given the go-ahead to begin setting up shop and selling those oh-so-delicious cookies that nearly every American has grown to love. In addition to the classics— which include Thin Mints, S’mores, Samoas, Do-si-dos and Tagalongs — the scouts are offering a new flavor this year. The Carmel Chocolate Chip cookie is described by the scouts as “rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips, and a hint of sea salt in a chewy cookie” — so in other words, YUM. And get this. Like the Toffee-tastic cookie, it is totally gluten-free.

How much will a box of your favorite cookies set you back in 2019? Depends on where you live. Apparently, prices are set locally by each of the 112 Girl Scout councils. If you are interested in buying a box — or 10 — right now, we can help you get your cookie fix. All you need to do is visit the Girl Scout website by clicking here and enter in your zip code. It will provide you information as to where your local troop will be selling cookies over the next months. There is also an app you can download aptly titled Girl Scout Cookie Finder that can help you as well. Where you live will also dictate the exact day you can purchase cookies, as each region has a different schedule.

Keep in mind that Girl Scout cookie season only lasts until April, so if you want to enjoy the splendor of your favorite cookie you might want to think about stockpiling several boxes. And don’t feel too guilty if you splurge — the Girl Scouts are an esteemed group of young women, and your purchase will contribute to their success.
