Gender Reveal Lasagna Is A Thing Now

If you were even a bit skeptical about gender reveals in the past, you will no doubt be eye-rolling over this latest gender reveal trend. We've seen couples in the past learn the gender of their unborn baby through more standard gender reveal methods such as balloons and cupcakes, and we've seen some take it a step further with confetti guns, smoke bombs and even paint gun parties. All of these are fun ideas and a super cute way to find out if a couple is having a boy or girl if that's the sort of thing they're in to.

Now the gender reveal trend seems to have jumped the shark because you can now order a gender reveal lasagna that is actually made using cheese that is dyed blue or pink to find out the gender of your unborn baby. A company called Villa Italian Kitchen can not only provide you with a tasty meal of salad, garlic bread, and lasagna, but they can now help you reveal whether or not you're having a boy or a girl!

According to their website, Villa Italian Kitchen decided to get in on the whole gender reveal fun by providing as part of it's catering packages a gender reveal cheese lasagna that has a secret pink or blue middle.

For just $139 you can order the gender reveal catering package which includes your cheese lasagna, a tray of Villa Italian Kitchen’s famed garlic rolls and a choice of either a garden, Caesar or Greek salad. Villa Italian Kitchen has about 300 locations across the country so lots of expectant parents can definitely get in on this cheesy gender reveal.

“Creating the Gender Reveal Lasagna was so much fun,” Stephanie Beamer, division vice president of franchising and catering, said in the statement. “We can’t wait to see all the videos of guests revealing their babies’ genders to family and friends in such a unique way.”

The company definitely is hoping that their lasagna gender reveal catches on and is encouraging everyone to post their own photos of their reveal on social media using the hashtag #lasagnareveal. So far it doesn't look like anyone has ordered their own gender reveal lasagna yet, but it's not a terrible idea. After all, who wouldn't want to combine a tasty meal with a gender reveal? Plus, by using the hashtag, you're also entered into a contest where you can win a free catered meal, which isn't so bad either.

We've seen a lot of fun gender reveal ideas over the years and even some that have gone very, very badly. A gender reveal lasagna may not be a typical way to announce the gender of your baby, but at least everyone is getting a meal out of it!
