Today is epic in the world of gaming, with Fortnite Season 4 now officially available. This highly anticipated release sees Epic and Marvel joining forces once again, with much excitement from people waiting not-so-patiently to give it a whirl.

While this type of game release typically generates positive buzz all around, this particular circumstance comes packed with its fair share of controversy. Apple and Google have banned the game, and the effects are already being felt.

It turns out that Epic had tried to evade a fee that Apple and Google implement for transactions within the game, and that motion was not well received at all. The dispute between Epic and the two technology giants eventually ended up in a legal battle, changing the way the game is being released, and limiting the access to many users, but the truly addictive nature of the game means true fans will find a way to get it, one way or another!

Fortnite Season 4 Has Arrived!

CNet reported, "The popular battle royale game's newest season will not be available for some mobile players after it was removed from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store earlier in August."

You can download the game now, but be aware that it might be a big download. Gamespot reported, "Epic has warned that patch sizes will be larger than normal with the start of the new season, but it didn't specify exact download sizes."

There has been much back and forth between Epic, and Apple and Google, and the legal battle heated up significantly in recent weeks. The end result is a fairly amicable one. It has been reported that "as of now, Fortnite Season 4 won't be available on iOS, though it will be playable on Android thanks to the game's availability through places other than the Google Play Store."

Adding to the appeal and excitement was the news that Thor would be making a cameo appearance, which sent fans into a flurry of excitement and had this date marked on many calendars across the world. Wolverine, Iron Man and many other characters are also expected to be included, and will band together to fight Galactus. Despite the legal hang up and the glitchy launch, the success of the game is inevitable, as it carries along with it an incredibly loyal fan base that will do just about anything to be able to dive back into this universe!
