It makes you wonder sometimes why celebrities continue to share pictures of their children online given how much sanctimonious mom-shaming they're subjected to every time they do. While we've come a long way in supporting women and their right to raise their children however they choose to, there's always those internet trolls who feel they have the right to comment on how women — famous or not — choose to parent.

Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King Edmonds is in the news again, but this time it has nothing to do with her husband Jim Edmonds' cheating scandal. Meghan, who shares three children with her estranged husband, three-year-old daughter Aspen and 18-month-old twins Hayes and Hart, was recently mom-shamed after sharing a picture of Aspen on Instagram.

In the picture, Aspen is tucked into her crib for the night as she smiles at the camera. Meghan addressed the fact that Aspen was in a crib and not a toddler bed in the caption writing, "She asked me to tell a story about a baby and then Christmas lights. The magic of being 3."

Naturally, because some people simply can't help but give absolutely strangers advice on how to raise their children, people criticized the mother of three for allowing her daughter to sleep in her crib despite every mother knowing that you put your child to sleep wherever they are happy and where they'll stay sleeping!

Meghan addressed her critics posting a picture on her Instagram stories writing "I'm defending my daughter," before posting an update on her Instagram picture.

"Yep she’s in her crib," Meghan began her update. "She climbs out when she wants and occasionally sleeps in her toddler bed but tonight Baby Alive had already claimed the (not-so-coveted) bed so AK opted for her too-small sleep sack, dock-a-tot, and wayyyy too small round crib. Because this girl is a firecrackin individual and I challenge any of you to challenge her."

Little Aspen just celebrated her 3rd birthday on November 24th with both Meghan and Jim Edmonds posting tributes to the tot on Instagram. Despite many criticizing the mother of three for still having Aspen sleep in a crib, many other fans came to her defense. "I say let them sleep in their crib as long as they want! It’s safe and cozy. She won’t go to college sleeping in a crib. No big deal!!" wrote one fan. "You are a great mom & don’t let anyone criticize you. Aspen being relaxed and sleeping where she is comfortable is most important. It isn’t like she is ten—she just turned 3 and is still a toddler," wrote another.

Is it really anyone's business where another person's child sleeps?
