SCOOB! is the first full length animated Scooby Doo movie on the big screen. We get an in depth look at the origin of Scooby Doo, and the Mystery Inc. team has the biggest case of their careers. As the press release says,

"SCOOB! reveals how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. Now, with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global “dogpocalypse,” the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined."

When Shaggy meets Scooby, they immediately bond over their love of food. Scooby is just a stray dog, and when a police officer tries to take him away, Shaggy claims him. And that's when we learn that his name comes from his favorite treat, Scooby Snacks! Clearly, SCOOB! is set in current times; when we first meet Fred, Velma and Daphne it's Halloween. Velma is dressed like Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Daphne is the modern version of Wonder Woman.

Fast forward to the teenage years and the gang has to solve a big case. Aliens have taken Shaggy and Scooby, and it's up to the other three to get them back!

There is some serious star power in the voice cast. Will Forte and Frank Welker voice the teenage Shaggy and grown up Scooby Doo. Rounding out the rest of the gang is Zac Efron as Fred, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne, and Gina Rodriguez as Velma. Other voice actors include Jason Isaacs, Tracey Morgan, Ken Jeong, and Mark Wahlberg.
