Sometimes there are certain people who hit the cultural zeitgeist and people simply can't stop talking about them or who they're dating and what they're doing. There's usually so many reasons as to why this person is considered so intriguing to so many people too. For some, it's just all about their looks and for others, it's their charming personality or they're interested in their dating life or their work. For a lot of people in the past year or so, that intriguing person is none other than Pete Davidson.

Currently on a leave of absence from Saturday Night Live, as he works through personal issues, he's recently made his way back into the press with a very candid interview that he did on Live Your Truth: An Honest Conversation With Charlamagne Tha God. On the show, he made it pretty clear that he's having a good long think about whether or not he's even going to return to SNL as he gets a "weird feeling in that building" as he feels the writers and other members of the cast "make fun of" him on it.

Even though you can't currently catch up with Davidson on SNL, he also recently brought out a stand-up comedy special on Netflix entitled Alive From New York. Though, it got a lot of people talking (even more) about him, some people saw it as less of a funny set and more of a look into his "anxiety and fragility". But maybe his bluntness and honesty towards what's going on in his life is exactly why we're all so obsessed with him?

Is he that guy that we all just want to 'save'?

One of the first things that crossed our mind when pondering the concept of how just about every woman alive is slightly obsessed with Pete Davidson, was maybe it all comes back to the whole savior complex, that so many people face. You know the one we're talking about. Particularly, when you're dating someone and the object of your affection falls on hard times — Davidson has put it out there several times that he has had stints in rehab, so, perhaps from hearing that, you just want to help them to be better.

We know that it may sound super silly to some people out there who really don't get into the whole idea of celebrity crushes, but often if we feel even a superficial connection to someone, even in a small way, some individuals' empathetic sensors immediately go off and you can't even really fully explain it, but you want to help them. This savior complex could stem from always needing to find a solution to a problem or the fact that seeing a person be vulnerable and possibly in need, immediately attracts you to them. Could be the thing that attracts women young and old to Pete Davidson, right?

He does have that typical bad boy look down pat

You can take one look at Pete Davidson, even from a paparazzi shot, and what you spot immediately are the tattoos and often bleached hair and hats and baggy clothes and sometimes he's even smoking a cigarette — yes, some people still do that. Put all of those things together and you have the typical "bad boy" look that oh-so-many women have fallen for time and time again. It can truly be like cat nip to some people, it just makes them go a little crazy.

Maybe the whole being attracted to a "bad boy" comes back to science though because it all depends on your taste and what attracts you to a person, but for some who find it appealing, they could often be looking for someone with a dominant personality who looks like he can stand up to other men for you. Or maybe it's the utter charm or possibility of "erratic behavior" as they're hard to fully size up and determine their next move. Sounds familiar, right?

Or maybe we're just intrigued by all his girlfriends

If you think back to high school, there will probably be one guy who comes to mind who was super funny and maybe sometimes he would get in trouble a bit or maybe he was just misunderstood, but chances are, he usually always a girlfriend. And maybe it was just that right there that attracted you to him — you wanted to know what these other girls time with him was like or how he treated them or how he kissed.

The same phenomenon could exist for a lot of women who can't take their eyes off Pete Davidson as he has dated everyone from Ariana Grande to Kate Beckinsale to supermodel Kaia Gerber. There has been several celebrity women who have dated him and seen his charm up close and we can't help but imagine being in their shoes for a moment. After all, that's only natural, right?
