It is really nice to see celebrities giving back during this time. They have the platform and resources to make some real change, and it is calming to see them actually in action. The world needs all of the help right now as we try to get through this pandemic together. While many of us are safe and quarantined in our homes, there are those who are not. There are essential employees out there working to make sure that everyone is healthy.

Health care workers are being tested and pushed past their limits, and rapper Eminem wants to make sure that they are being taken care of during this time. He has stepped up and is feeding health care workers in Detroit, which is his home town. Eminem, or Marshall Mathers, sent pasta to front line caregivers at Henry Ford Hospital who are treating patients that have COVID-19. This was confirmed by an Instagram post made by Henry Ford Health System.

He has also put his own spin on it, by adding a label to the food that says, “Mom’s Spaghetti.” His is a tribute to his song, ‘Lose Yourself’ and the famous line, “There’s vomit on his sweater already/Mom’s spaghetti.” That son won an Oscar in 2002. The Henry Ford Health System post thanked Eminem for his donation of food to feed their workers, who likely have very little down time to grab a good meal.

A source had told local news that Eminem and his foundation had partnered with a restaurant group, Union Joints, to provide the food. They also stated that they would be continuing this effort at other local hospitals in the coming weeks. Wayne County, Michigan has been hit really hard with coronavirus and the hospital has been impacted. There have been 14, 561 confirmed cases and over 1, 000 deaths due to the virus.

It is touching to see Eminem give back to the front-line medical workers who are working so hard to make sure that we are all safe and that everyone who is ill recovers. They are doing so at great risk to themselves, as they go to work every day just hoping they don’t bring the illness home to their families.
