The Rock 'n' Roll world lost a legend this week. It is always heartbreaking when an icon passes away, especially when it is well before what should be their time. Even though we never knew them in person, when we idolize someone so much, we can’t help but feel like a close friend has passed away. Eddie Van Halen was that person for a lot of people, and he sadly passed away on October 6th after a long battle with cancer, and he left behind a legendary career and a loving family.

According to People, Eddie’s son, Wolf, has been sharing memories of his father in the day’s following his death, and it is a side of the rocker that we didn’t get to see before. Wolf has followed in his father’s footsteps and he plays bass.

Wolf shared a sweet throwback picture of him and his father on his Instagram account. It is a picture of him sitting on his father’s lap while they both read the book More Bugs in Boxes. It is a sweet moment that reminds everyone that even rock stars are human, too and they have loving dad moments just like everyone else.

This isn’t the first throwback that Wolf has shared on his social media. Eddie’s ex-wife, Valerie Bertinelli, has also been sharing throwback photos. It seems like they want the world to know more about the star as a human, a man, and a father. Eddie had been battling cancer for years, and it was Wolf who announced his passing on social media.

He captioned the post by saying that Eddie was the best father that he could have ever asked for. He said that every single moment he spent with him was a gift, and that was both on and off the stage. The heartbreaking post also said that Wolf did not think that he would ever recover from this loss. It was a post that had a lump in the throat of everyone who read it. Eddie and his son were reportedly very close to each other, they had a tight relationship, so it is to be expected that this will be hard on him.

Valerie has been showing the world that love may never really die between two people who share a child together. She posted that her life changed 40 years ago when she met the rocker. She said that he gave her the best gift ever when she had their son. Eddie will surely be missed by everyone, but by no one more than his son and ex-wife.
