It is important to look for the little things in life to brighten up your day. Thanks to COVID-19 a lot of people have had their lives uprooted. Children are out of school and missing their friends, families are trying to work from home and a lot of them are struggling financially. Everyone is looking for anything that can bring a smile to their (and their children’s) faces.

What some people have done is put back up their Christmas trees. Christmas brings a sense of joy and peace to a lot of people, so it only makes sense that some would like to recreate that feeling in a time we need it most. However, some are going to the complete next level and making Easter Christmas trees.

Easter is coming up and a lot of normal, family traditions are changing as we are not allowed to group together to celebrate. That is not stopping some moms from bringing the Easter season into their house. This trend is popping up all over social media, and all you need is your Christmas tree and some Easter decorations.

Easter has always been known as an egg-hunting time, but it may be changing thanks to this viral trend. It is also a fun way to pass some time when you are all stuck at home. Don’t have any Easter decorations?

Get out some paper and cut out some egg and bunny shapes. Color them in if you need to.

This could easily be an activity the children could work on for hours, if not days. Then when the Easter bunny makes his arrival, their baskets can be tucked right underneath. It is a season-appropriate way of bringing back that feeling we all get on Christmas morning.

It also has a historical significance. In Germany and Sweden, eggs have often been placed in trees as a way to signal that spring is coming. One woman shared her Easter tree on Instagram and she quoted it as such, “I saw a post about treating the lockdown like Christmas – we stay at home for a period over Christmas and love it was the gist, so why should this be different? So with that in mind, we got the Christmas tree down and decorated it for Easter.”
