Let's not kid ourselves. If you're reading this, you enjoy watching Dr. Pimple Popper videos. But don't worry! That's nothing to be ashamed of. The Dr. Pimple Popper, Dr. Sandra Lee, has a  YouTube channel with 6.59 million subscribers alone. Dr. Pimple Popper loves to post "Best Of" videos for each year and her Best of Blackheads and Dilated Pores of Winer video posted on April 13, 2020, already has over 4 million likes.

If you require further proof that you're not the only weirdo who likes to watch these gross videos, Dr. Pimple Popper's videos were so incredibly popular on YouTube that TLC gave her a show on their channel. Her YouTube channel, through TLC, already has 4.31 million subscribers AKA "popaholics" as Dr. Pimple Popper likes to refer to her fans.

We could get into the psychology of why it's so satisfying to watch goo, sludge, and grime (stuff that has no business being under skin) pop out of the skin but we think that we'd rather discuss the woman behind the tweezers and all the squeezing. Why do people love her so much?

Who Is Dr. Pimple Popper Dr. Sandra Lee?

Unmasked! Dr. Pimple Popper is actually Sandra Siew Pin Lee, MD, FAAD, FAACS, 49, a Board Certified Dermatologist, who is based in Upland, California where she practices dermatology and resides with her husband, Jeffrey Rebish (also a dermatologist), and their two sons, ages 13 and 14. It's been said that Dr. Lee's teenage sons are not fans of their mom's popular videos online which makes sense for a couple of reasons. What kid appreciates their parents' "boring" line of work, especially at that age? And what teenager wants to be reminded of pimples?

Dr. Sandra Lee is the winner of the 2nd Annual Critics Choice for Female Star of the Year. She received this award as "Dr. Sandra Lee for Dr. Pimple Popper on TLC." After winning her award, she was sure to thank her popaholics on Instagram.

How Did Dr. Pimple Popper Become Famous?

Dr. Sandra Lee "Dr. Pimple Popper" made a name for herself by uploading videos to a YouTube channel that she named Dr. Sandra Lee AKA Dr. Pimple Popper. These videos featured close-ups of lipomas, cysts, blackheads, and whiteheads of her patients. Dr. Lee would always get the permission of her patients before her assistant would take the video and she would never include the face or major identifying features of her patients in the videos in her original channel.

This vastly contrasts with the format of Dr. Pimple Popper's TLC show which features a small intro of the patient, sometimes seen in their own home with their family, before Dr. Lee is seen treating the patient.

What Is Dr. Pimple Popper Doing Now?

COVID-19 has changed the way that many of our favorite celebrities are doing business these days but for the most part, life hasn't changed much for Dr. Lee. She's still working in her Upland dermatology office, seeing patients, making videos, and she's very active on social media especially Instagram. Dr. Lee made a name for herself by being super friendly and relatable to her fans on YouTube and keeping in touch with her fanbase on Instagram during the COVID-19 pandemic has helped to keep "Dr. Pimple Popper" on the minds of the popaholics.

How Much Has Dr. Pimple Popper Made... Popping Pimples?

Dr. Lee has a net worth of $5 million but that is sure to rise rapidly thanks to a few factors. Fans have flocked to her TLC show which has been going strong since 2018. The show is currently in its 4th season.

Dr. Lee recently launched her own skincare line named SLMD for "Sandra Lee MD." SLMD offers a full line of products including a 3-step acne system routine in a 30 and a 60 day supply, dark spot fix/skin lightening gel, body acne wash and spray system, body smoothing system, benzoyl peroxide-free acne system for sensitive skin, anti-aging skin trio, powdered sunscreen, an exfoliating face wash, resurfacing acne wipes, salicylic acid spot treatment, benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, retinol serum nighttime clarifying treatment, sulfur lotion, hyaluronic acid, and daily moisturizer with SPF just to name a few.

These products are offered by Dr. Lee so that her popaholics don't have to come to her suffering from conditions such as cystic acne, blackheads, whiteheads, and other common skin maladies as the patients in her videos do. But just in case any popaholics do come across a blackhead or a whitehead, luckily Dr. Lee sells a comedone extractor (a blackhead and whitehead remover) for just $20, so that you can remove that nasty problem and feel a bit like Dr. Lee yourself.

So now that you know a bit more about Dr. Lee, do you consider yourself a popaholic? Whether you watch the videos between your fingers, through squinted eyes, or with a grimace, if you even watch them at all, you're probably considered a bonafide Dr. Pimple Popper popaholic. Welcome aboard!
