However, her most coveted titles is likely “mom.” Dr. Jill Biden is a mother, and a mother who has experienced loss and she wanted to write a letter to all the American moms out there. Romper shared her letter and it was full of hope and promise. Jill speaks a lot about how tired moms are right now. She acknowledged how hard this year has been on moms, with virtual learning and concerns about screen time and the little opportunities there are for breaks.

She reassured moms that everyone has been there, but that not a lot have had to do it in the middle of a pandemic, and there is praise there for that. She also spoke about raising children in the current political climate of the US. She speaks about how hard it can be to teach kindness to our children when leaders are not showing the same attributes.

She recalls moms telling her that no matter how hard they try; they feel like they are failing. Jill wants moms to know that they are not failing, that moms are doing the best they can with what they have right now and that is all that anyone can ask for. She speaks about the plan her husband and vice-president elect, Kamala Harris, have to slow the spread of the virus and get the country back on track.

She speaks about how their plan starts with re-opening of schools and daycares safely so that parents can go back to work. That schools need help to make sure they are a safe environment for children to return to.

At the end of the letter, Dr. Jill Biden just wants moms to know that they are so strong and that despite so much chaos in the world they have been the ones to carry their families through it.
