Disney's 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' Is Here

Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’s new trailer is here and it is as fantastical, otherworldly and magical as one would suspect. In Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, a sequel to the 2014 global box office hit, Maleficent and her goddaughter Aurora begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials and unexpected allies, as dark new forces come into play.

The years have passed and it appears that Maleficent and Aurora have some semblance of a real mother-daughter relationship. Though birthed out of heartbreak, revenge and an ultimately love, their relationship has flourished, considering the circumstances. However, the spiritual warfare between mankind and the fairies still looms in the distance. Aurora’s has fallen in love, and her forthcoming marriage to Prince Phillip is cause for great celebration in the Kingdom of Ulstead, because their union will unite two worlds who have a legacy of separation.

In an unexpected chain of events, when a new encounter introduces the possibility of a powerful alliance, Maleficent becomes angry and a war between two opposing forces commences. The notion of whether or not Maleficent and Princess Aurora could ever truly be considered a family comes center stage as: loyalty is tested, inner darkness is revealed and new creatures with motives present themselves in this new trailer.

The visuals in the trailer are absolutely beautiful. From the cinematography to the costume design, it appears that this film is going to be just as breath-taking as the 2014 blockbuster hit. From winged creatures to beautifully adorned fairies, this trailer is definitely an indication that the forthcoming film is definitely going to be captivating.

In the trailer, it is evident that Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning are reprising their roles as Maleficent and Princess Aurora. The film also stars heavy-hitters like Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickenson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is set to release nationwide on October 18, 2019.
