By now, you've likely heard that Disney is launching their own streaming service, Disney+. This is what Disney fans young and old have been waiting for, as we all know current streaming services don't usually have the Disney content we want. Disney+ will have everything Disney related, plus all of the content by companies owned by Disney, like LucasFilm and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And while we will get all of the content we know and love, there will be plenty of original content rolling out in the first year or so of Disney+'s release.
The best thing is that the original content spans across all of Disney's holdings. Which means we'll get not only new Disney universe content, but new Star Wars and Marvel content as well. Disney+ will not have anything R-rated though, so that content will likely go to Hulu, which Disney owns a huge portion of. As of right now, the Marvel content produced by Netflix, like Jessica Jones and Luke Cage will stay with Netflix, but could be revived on Disney+ in the future. And now that Disney has purchased Fox, we can expect to find Fox content as well. If you're a fan of The Simpsons, Disney+ will be the exclusive streaming home of the long running series.
And what's better, any Disney theatrical releases will hit Disney+ the same day it gets released on DVD!
There is a lot of new content coming to Disney+ in its first year.
The Mandalorian is the first live action Star Wars TV series. It will be available when Disney+ starts
Untitled Cassian Andor Series, based on the character played by Diego Luna in Rogue One. He will play the character on the show too.

And Noelle, where Anna Kendrick plays the sister to Kris Kringle (Santa Claus) who may have to step into the big guy's shoes when he goes missing right before Christmas.
Plus, there will be a bunch of documentaries like, Marvel's 616, which examines the historical and societal context of popular Marvel stories. And Ink & Paint tells the stories of the women who worked on many of Disney's classic films. Ink & Paint comes in the second year.
Disney+ comes on November 12th, 2019.
