Ever since Disney announced they were developing their own streaming service called Disney+, we've been breathlessly awaiting any and all updates. First they said they'd be pulling all their content from Netflix in anticipation of the network. Then, Disney went and bought up pretty much everything! They merged with 21st Century Fox, so they control pretty much the entire Fox catalog of movies and television shows. Add to that the fact that Disney also owns the rights to the entire Star Wars franchise, and it's pretty clear that they've been angling to make their yet-to-be-released streaming service indispensable. Details about the service have been pretty scarce ... until now! During an event at Disney's Investor Day, the company announced some key details about when we can expect Disney+ to launch, how much it'll cost, and what exactly we'll be getting for our money.

Let's just say, it's all pretty good news.

Disney+ will officially launch on November 12 of this year, which isn't that far away! Even better news: the service will star at $6.99 per month, or $69 per year. That's less than the cheapest Netflix subscription, and we have to say, we're a bit surprised by the low price! When the service launches, they'll already have an immense catalog on content to draw from, and the company also says they've be developing original content featuring some of our favorite characters.

But right when the service launches, we're going to have so much amazing content. Original content from Marvel Studios like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Marvel’s What If…?, projects from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar like Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 and Forky Asks a Question, documentaries from National Geographic, and scripted originals from Stars Wars, High School Musical, and Monsters Inc.

Additionally, all Disney movies released in 2019 will be available on the service as soon as their theatrical run ends, and they will also have Fox shows like The Simpsons (all 30 seasons!). Plus, who can forget THE ENTIRE DISNEY VAULT?!

We seriously cannot wait for Disney+ to launch, and we plan on signing up as soon as possible. If you want to register your email to receive updates on the service so you can be one of the first to join, head over to the website now!
