Character dining at Disney is making a comeback to some locations. Disney World and Disneyland faced unprecedented challenges over this last year, and it started with them having to close their gates to guests to ensure they were following guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic. This crushed the hearts of a lot of families and children who had to cancel their much-anticipated vacations and magical dreams. The parks slowly started to reopen with guidelines and restrictions in place, which meant that not everything was back to normal, and this included character dining.

According to Delish and Pressform, Disneyland is getting ready to welcome back character dining at some of its locations. Disneyland has been open since April, but character dining did not open with the park due to restrictions. This was an element that was missed by children who hoped to spend some time with their favorite princesses and characters.

The two locations that are welcoming characters back into their dining room are Disneyland Resort’s Plaza Inn for Minnie and Friends Breakfast and at the Grand California Hotel & Spa For Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast at Storytellers Café.

Operations at Mickey’s Tales of Adventure have been in operation since July 22nd, which guests being able to delight in the buffet-style meal, which characters entertain them from a distance, but Minnie’s spot does not open until August 12th. This location will also include modifications to make sure they can offer guests some magic with a bit of safety and protection as well. There is no word yet on what the exact precautions will be, but guests have been told that they will be able to make reservations soon for a spot.

Disney World in Orlando has already started their meet-and-greets with characters, with a few safety precautions. One of these is the encouragement of guests making reservations to ensure things can run smoothly and to prevent crowds from forming. There is also no word on when other character dining will resume. This includes both Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure and Goofy’s Kitchen. They have not yet announced when character dining will resume, but everyone is hoping that with the start of the first two, these ones may not be far to follow. It could stand to reason that the park is rolling them out slowly to see how they work and if any changes need to be made to their safety precautions.
