Derick Dillard from the hit TLC show Counting On has recently been on a rampage about his quarrels with the other Duggar family members and why he and his wife Jill Duggar have distanced themselves from them. In addition to having complaints about not getting paid for their appearances on the spinoff show, Dillard is now also claiming that he and his wife weren't allowed to share important personal news until after they cleared it with "official channels".
During an interview on YouTube's "Without a Crystal Ball," Dillard had this to say. "We weren’t even allowed to be the first ones to announce our own life events — our marriage, expecting our baby, our genders of our children, our births — not by our own choice," Dillard explained in his interview.
"If I had to do it all over again, I would’ve announced myself when we were expecting and things like that, even if I would’ve gotten in trouble," alluding to the probability of repercussions for not following the Duggar family protocol.
Dillard also claims that he and his wife weren't allowed in the house of the patriarch and matriarch, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar unless Jim Bob was there. In an Instagram reply, he elaborated using an example of when Jill had to ask for her dad's permission to go to his house when her sister was in labor. Her sister requested that she come to her side and help out but even during this very important life moment, Jill couldn't just pop up without Jim Bob's permission.
Dillard was fired from Counting On after making controversial comments about another TLC reality star, Jazz Jennings who is a transgender girl. Ever since being fired, he's been very vocal about his issues with his own reality show.
As of right now, TLC says that they have no plans on bringing Dillard back to be a cast member on "Counting On" and they defend their decision to let him go in light of his transphobic behavior towards Jennings, including his refusal to use proper pronouns when referring to her.
