Cookie monster just celebrated his birthday on Friday, November 2nd and in honor of his birthday, he's getting a very special surprise! Waze, the free GPS navigation app is bringing the infamous cookie loving monster's voice and mood into cars of drivers everywhere to help honor the muppet's birthday. In addition to the other voices and moods available on Waze, users will be able to use Cookie's loveable voice and mood as well.

Waze first made the announcement on his birthday with a video that had the caption "Happy birthday Cookie Monster! Celebrate using his voice and mood on Waze!" They followed the video up with a Twitter announcement on Sunday that let users know that Cookie's voice would be available for use on Monday, November 5th, but only for a limited time. The announcement didn't specify how long it would be available, but In Waze's announcement on Twitter, they let their followers know to "use them while you can" so if you want Cookie as your co-pilot, you should get him ASAP.

This is the second time that Waze has offered Cookie's voice and mood as an option, with the first being earlier this year in May when they partnered with Sesame Street to help them celebrate their 50th anniversary. Since making their announcement, Waze has received a ton of responses from users who weren't shy to let the company know that they were bummed when the Cookie Monster option went away and that they were thrilled to be getting him back.

Cookie, with his broken speech and his insatiable appetite for cookies is the perfect recipe to help you get through your case of the Monday's blues, to make you smile through your rush hour commute or to help you entertain and tame your own little monsters. Getting his voice and mood on the Waze app is easy to do. The first thing that you need to do is make sure that you have the Waze app! If you don't you can easily download it. From the app, you'll need to go into the voice and sound settings, download the Cookie Monster voice and enjoy.
