A new survey was done that has ranked classic children’s books, and one came out as the favorite. Reading is one of the most well-loved activities for mom to do with her children, and that may be because she remembers her mom reading to her when she was little. She remembers the stories, and she even brings some of her favorites back out to share with her children.

If we all stopped and thought about it, we would be able to give our favorites too. There are some books that are timeless, and they seem to stand the test of time, and they are always fun.

According to Study Finds, a survey was done that has ranked the best classic children’s book, and the favorite may not be that unusual. The survey was done on 2,000 US adults, and it was completed by OnePoll, and commissioned by ThriftBooks.

More than half (54%) of adults said that reading their favorite books as a child “transports” them back to their childhood, and this included adults were over 77 years old.

Coming out in the top spot was Stan Berenstain’s, The Berenstain Bears books, 31% of people said that this was their favorite as a child. These books continue to be popular, and can be seen on bookshelves in homes all across the world.

Some other popular choices were The Giving Tree, The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Goodnight Moon. However, the survey also looked at chapter books, and they found that there were some favorites there as well.

The top three were Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Little House on the Prairie and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

These classics never get old, and we are glad they don’t because we now get to share them with our children, and it can be a great way for parent and child to bond.

The survey also found that most people can still recite lines from their favorite children’s books, and they are not afraid to pick them up again as adults and read them.

When asked what stories from childhood an adult would pick up and read again, the popular ones were Beauty and the Beast, Harry Potter, The Cat in the Hat and Charlotte’s Web.

They also found that characters stick with us too, and not just the stories. The most memorable literary characters were Encyclopedia Brown, Peter Pan, Nancy Drew and Pippi Longstockings. It may be time to head to the bookstore and pick up some of these classics.
