Bringing a new baby home will always be a unique, wonderful and scary experience. It goes to a whole other level when you have a toddler at home. Mom may be unsure of how her older child will react to having a new baby at home. There may be some feelings of jealousy or excitement and mom needs to make sure that their older child is gentle with their new baby brother or sister.

Celebrities deal with the same situations when they start having multiple children, and Ciara is opening up about what it was like to bring her new baby boy home to her 3-year-old daughter. According to PopSugar, Ciara’s daughter made the same mistake a lot of toddler’s do when it comes to a new baby and she thought her new brother was a doll.

Ciara did a virtual interview with Access and she spoke about the birth of her son, and how her whole family has adjusted. Her son is now 9-weeks-old, but there were some hiccups along the way with her 3-year-old daughter. Ciara has two older children, 6-year-old Future and 3-year-old Sienna and they are now adjusting well to having a new baby brother.

She said that all they want to do is love him. She says that she doesn’t see any jealousy in the two of them, and they don’t seem to mind that their new little brother is getting all the love. All they want to do is hold him and hug him. She also said that when her son, who she has named Win, was first brought home she had to remind her toddler that he was not a doll.

She had to remind Sienna that although he was small, he was not a doll. She said that her daughter truly thought that Win was a baby doll and that Ciara had to quickly explain to her the difference. She explained that it is worrisome, because every mom knows a doll gets flung around, and Sienna could not be handling her brother like she does her toys.

This is a sentiment that a lot of moms can understand, and it explains why we have to watch our older children very closely when they are with their new, younger siblings. At times, their love is aggressive and though they may mean well, they can be a little to rough for their own good.
