One celebrity mom squad is tearing it up with the kids, and it's total #momgoals. Ciara and Vanessa Bryant let their playdate drift into a slumber party, and we all know that it was about more than just the little ones.
Play dates aren't just for the kids. While it's great to let little ones have friends, the real benefits, as moms all realize, is the opportunity for women to spend time with their friends. That's even more true when the mom is going through a hard time and needs the support of her girls.
In fact, in her Instagram photo, Ciara showed herself snuggling with Vanessa's two little girls, 3-year-old Bianka and baby Capri, who is 1½. But her own daughter Sienna, who is Bianka's age, wasn't in sight.
It wouldn't surprise us if the 3-year-olds were indeed having a fun sleepover together, and maybe Ciara was ready to take a break and let hubby, Russell Wilson, have some time with their 4-month-old, Win (as well as their 6-year-old, Future). It's also possible that Vanessa, who is still grieving her husband Kobe, needed a night away to be with a friend.
The photo doesn't tell the entire story, so it's hard to tell if the moms were having their own slumber party to support each other while letting the girls have some fun, too. But either way, it seems like the party in some way supported one or both of the moms.
Having a new baby like Ciara did or losing a spouse and a child like Vanessa experienced this year, these are both times when a woman needs a lot of mom-time/me-time/friend-time. Ciara and Vanessa have been there for each other many times this year, according to People.
Following Ciara on Instagram is like tagging along with their friendship. A couple of months ago, she posted a picture of the two nursing side-by-side. Moms who nurse together stay friends forever, right?
Both ladies deserve some happiness and light this year as they go through such major life changes, and it's awesome that they can do life with their friend by their side. Hopefully, the slumber party allowed them to have some fun and make some memories with the girls and with each other.
