There’s a new holiday hair trend that is making waves on social media and yes, it’s one that all of us can get behind. The reason behind it is quite simple: not only do moms have a reason to keep their hair rolled back in a bun or high pony tail, but they can also disguise their low-maintenance style and make it looks as merry and festive as they possibly can with the Christmas Tree Hair. In other words, you can be that extra mom with the fabulous Pinterest-inspired hair at the next holiday party without putting much effort into it, too.

According to social media, everyone is rocking Christmas Tree Hair this season (and by everyone, we mean those who dare). The super cute style, according to the Daily Mail, is created when "people style their hair into an upside-down cone shape, mimicking a Christmas tree before decorating their strands with ornaments."

Sounds simple enough, right? Well, it is. All you need to do is place an empty water bottle or cone on top of your head as a guide. Next, you simply smooth your hair over the top of the bottle or cone and held in place with a hair elastic and hair spray.

Finish by decorating your hair like a tree, complete with your own light bulbs (should you want to lighten things up a bit), garnish, ornaments, or anything else you would put on your own Christmas tree. And voila: you are that mom with the hair envy at every holiday party this season.

It’s a great way to add some humorous festivity to a Christmas event. The other moms wish they were just as Pinterest-savvy as you are, while your older kids will want nothing to do with you. Why?

Because according to your tweens and teens, crazy hair days should be reserved for Field Day and spirit week at school, and not on top of their own mother’s heads. But don’t worry, it will take sometime before your kiddos understand just how fabulous you are, with or without the light bulbs in your head.

Now whether or not you want to complete your Christmas Tree Hair look with an Ugly Christmas sweater is totally up to you (we say you should do it). Be that extra, mama.
