A new study has found that children can develop high blood pressure as young as 6 years old, so it is important that they go outside as much as possible to try and prevent it. The health of children is the priority of every parent, caregiver, and medical professional, and work is always being done to see what can hinder it, and help it.

Studies are always being done to see what is impacting youth, but more importantly, what can be done to help children live a healthy and well life. Childhood obesity is on the rise, and this can be blamed on unhealthy eating, as well as lack of exercise and time outside.

As screens become more popular, nature and the world outside become less so. According to Study Finds, a study was done that found that children can develop high blood pressure by the age of 6, and this typically applies to children who can be labeled as “couch potatoes.”

High blood pressure is something that is usually attributed to older people, but it can impact you. The researchers stated that too many children are spending their time inside, and not enough time at the park, playing sports, or just being active in general.

They also stated that obesity is often blamed on the parents and its link with genetics. However, the study authors said that parents need to make sure that their children are getting outside and getting the physical activity that they need.

The study, which can be read in full here, said that parents need to change how they are viewing their children’s behavior, and make sure they are getting outside, and losing the extra weight when they are younger as it is easier than waiting until they are older.

When they looked closer at what was causing the high blood pressure in children and youth, they found that 9 out of 10 cases could be linked back to eating too many sugary and salty foods. So, while getting outside is important, it is also important to make sure children are eating properly.

If a child is already suffering from some high blood pressure issues, the best way to fight it is to have a higher intake of fresh fruit and vegetables, and other high-fiber foods. It is also wise to cut down on processed and fast foods, as well as get outside and enjoy nature and run around.
