TikTok's most-followed content creator Charli D'Amelio is the one so many fellow creators follow on the platform. One could argue that she sets many of the trends on TikTok for others to follow. Whether it's a new dance or a challenge to try, her influence is bigger than most people may realize.

When you learn this, then you may understand why D'Amelio is so popular on TikTok. But she's also extremely popular off the platform. She's constantly using the same influence she uses to push popular dances to push important messages on social media and TV. She proved this yet again when she blasted one new TikTok trend that has recently taken off on the platform.

The trend in question comes from a sound by fellow TikTok user Zanayasligh. In the video, she encourages viewers to "break your wrist". She then imitates this by contorting one hand to make it appear as though it had a spasm.

Another TikTok user who has a daughter with cerebral palsy said that this trend is "highly offensive", adding that it's a pose that's "used by many with disabilities, largely including those with cerebral palsy, due to the weak muscles and their brain development." The user concluded by encouraging people to not partake in the trend despite its growing popularity.

Fortunately, D'Amelio decided to echo similar thoughts on Twitter this past Saturday. She tweeted out the fact that this trend was going on before condemning it for being "unacceptable" and "wrong". In the Tweet, she made it perfectly clear that this TikTok trend is in poor taste and shouldn't be done under any circumstances whatsoever.

D'Amelio's Tweet was met with a lot of likes and retweets from both followers and passerbys alike. But she also received a ton of praise from fellow Twitter users for speaking out against this particular TikTok trend. She chose to not keep quiet on the matter, and instead decided to make it clear that it's absolutely not okay. You go, D'Amelio! Here's hoping that her words will keep more people from partaking in this specific trend.
